Community Trust Initiative
In 2008, we set a goal to raise $4 million for The Community Trust by 2012.
Doing so would allow The Community Foundation to double its grants from The
Community Trust, provide more security for Boulder County's future, and
allocate a portion of funds towards a key community issue, such as youth
risks and behaviors or the educational achievement gap. More information
Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado (EFCO)
Colorado has a vibrant entrepreneurial community. A group of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, lawyers, and The Community Foundation have created the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado (EFCO) to work with local entrepreneurs to help endow Colorado. Since entrepreneurial success is uncertain and the vast majority of entrepreneurial endeavors fail, EFCO decided to approach the problem in a unique fashion. Rather than wait for success to encourage philanthropic activity, at which point the successful entrepreneur is likely to be besieged by requests, EFCO decided to create a new program to help all entrepreneurs contribute early in the creation of their companies to the long term health and sustainability of Colorado.
