Local Organization Sending Relief
There is a Boulder-based organization, Burma Lifeline, that is collecting funds for immediate relief. Burma Lifeline is collecting monies that it will pass on to a network in Thailand that is getting immediate relief into Burma (Myanmar).

Has over 500 staff in Burma and is particularly focusing its efforts on assisting children and families.
American Jewish World Service

Burma (Myanmar) since 2002 and has long-standing partnerships with grassroots organizations in the region. Through this network, AJWS is identifying and providing emergency support to local social welfare organizations and religious institutions that are responding to the immediate needs of Burma (Myanmar)'s people. Funds donated to AJWS will allow these organizations to provide food, water, cooking equipment, shelter, clothing and health services to those most in need. Funds will also go to providing cremation and funeral services for the victims of Cyclone Nargis: this is essential to prevent the spread of disease and protect water supplies from further contamination.

Mercy Corps

Mercy Corps is supporting the response activities of its strategic partner the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) following a devastating 7.9-magnitude earthquake in China. Both CFPA and Mercy Corps now have staff on the ground in Chengdu, a city about 100 km from the earthquake's epicenter in the eastern part of Sichuan. CFPA expects to provide food, water, temporary shelter and possibly medical supplies to people in the affected areas. Mercy Corps will assist with financial, material and human resources.
Save the Children and World Vision are also active in China.
There is a group affiliated with the University of Colorado that is encouraging donations.
