Boulder County, like most communities, is dynamic. People are coming and going. Issues change. New problems emerge. Crises arise.

The Community Foundation’s Community Trust is the right place to invest for donors who believe that their charitable dollars can be most effective by being flexible. Interest generated by this permanent endowment fund is available each year to address the community’s most pressing needs and most important opportunities. The money is awarded in a competitive process of application, which involves committees of Foundation staff, trustees, and community members and leaders evaluating proposals and conducting interviews and site visits.

The Community Foundation makes a constant effort to stay on top of or even ahead of emerging issues in the county. We do this in part by our partnership with the Boulder County Civic Forum, which is dedicated to measuring emerging community indicators and trends, by commissioning periodic surveys and studies, by working with community leaders on committees and projects, and by always keeping our ears open.
