Why is it more effective to
give money through the Boulder Fund than directly to
Neighborhood Housing Services (or another organization
in New Orleans)?
As a fund of The Community Foundation, the Boulder Building
New Orleans Fund provides a credible and efficient way
for Boulder County citizens to pool their resources
to help hurricane relief in New Orleans. The fundís
goal is to build, at least one home in New Orleans.
The first $10,000 donated to the fund was matched by
the Anchor Point Gift Fund of The Community Foundation
and all administrative costs are being funded by Boulder
residents, Brad Feld and Amy Batchelor, so that every
dollar donated goes directly toward building in New
Orleans.
Has the BBNO Fund done due
diligence? Is Neighborhood Housing Services viable,
ethical, productive?
All grants made from The Community Foundation are made
only after proper due diligence about the potential
grantee has been conducted.
How often will grants be distributed
from the Boulder Building New Orleans Fund?
One hundred percent of funds donated to the Boulder
Building New Orleans Fund will be granted to Neighborhood
Housing Services upon completion of the home.
